Proxy Play [U.6.04]

The term ‘proxy’ refers to sending your character sheet to a Storyteller (other than your direct Storyteller) to portray a character without your physical presence, for instance as part of a downtime outside of your own game. At least 48 hours notice must be given to the Storyteller handling the proxy scene, unless the Storyteller makes a specific exception. In order to proxy a character, the player must provide their character sheet and a brief written description of the character’s intentions, motivations, personality, and reactions to some possible situations. By giving a character over for proxy play, the player grants the Storyteller all rights to the character for the duration of the proxy scene. Storytellers may further modify proxy play rules through their Venue Style Sheets. Storytellers need to keep players informed of proxy progress, providing status updates on at least a weekly basis, and must portray proxied player characters to the best of their ability should unforeseen situations arise. For proxy approvals, a Low Storyteller email that specifically gives approval for the proxy to commence is usually sufficient.

Proxy Rules:

Camarilla Rules Addendum Proxy Play
To engage in a proxy, a player must get local Low Approval, as well as informal approval from the supervising Storyteller of the scene into which she proxies. Mid Storytellers may choose to require notifications of any proxies into their areas of responsibility. The player must provide the Storyteller of the scene into which she proxies with her full character sheet, and her character’s motivations and potential actions for whatever situations may develop during the proxy. Storytellers must keep players informed of proxy progress, providing status updates on at least a weekly basis, and should portray proxied PCs to the best of their ability should unforeseen situations arise. For time-critical proxy approvals a Low Storyteller email that specifically gives approval for the proxy to commence is sufficient instead of DB usage.

Member Declaration (compulsory)

I have attached my character sheet with complete experience point log and item listing, both of which are a true and accurate record of the character. I understand that in requesting this proxy, I am handing control of my character to another Member to portray as if it were his or her own character, and as such the risks inherent with a character attending a normal session may be faced, up to and including death.

I understand and accept that I will have no recourse of appeal in the event of any detrimental event or action that is perpetrated in accordance with these instructions.
